Understanding Military Transcripts and Ensuring Academic Integrity

Thursday June 18, 2009
Milton Hall, Room 50
10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Presenter: Michele Spires, ACE Assistant Director, Military Programs

This professional development seminar/workshop is intended for faculty, academic advisors and staff from the Las Cruces and community college academic advising and administrative offices. Anyone who reviews Army/American Council on Education Registry Transcript System (AARTS) transcripts and awards equivalent college credits for military courses and experiences will benefit from this work session. The AARTS system is a means for universities and community colleges to review military training and experiences and award equivalent college credits for members of the Armed Forces in a systematic way.

In this "Hands-On" session, Ms. Spires will use existing AARTS transcripts in exercises that will identify how NMSU’s internal reviews can ensure academic integrity in the credit granting process.

This session is offered in partnership with ACE. NMSU's system-wide work with ACE provides a collaborative link between the U.S. Department of Defense and NMSU.
