The Classroom Experience

(18 credits, all available online or face-to-face)

Professors within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction teach the Core Professional Courses. The goals of the courses include increasing pedagogical knowledge, understanding research, as well as modeling and discussing strategies for effectively integrating technology into teaching and learning.

Take all of the following:

  • EDUC 515 Multicultural Education
  • EDUC 516 Curriculum and Pedagogy
  • EDUC 518 Technology and Pedagogy
  • EDUC 519 Research in Curriculum and Instruction
  • EDLT 570 Advanced Instructional Strategies or EDLT 610 Technology, Society and Education
  • EDLT 573 Critical Thinking and Technology

College of Extended Learning Courses

The Classroom Experience

(15 credits, only available online)

Take all of the following:

  • CEL 560 Fostering Online Learning Communities
  • CEL 570 Designing and Organizing Online Learning Environments
  • CEL 580 Tools and Techniques for Online Teaching
  • CEL 590 Assessing and Evaluating Online Teaching and Learning
  • CEL 595 Online Teaching Practicum

Students will consult with a CEL advisor on the Online Teaching and Learning Graduate Certificate courses. By completing all five CEL courses, students will earn a Graduate Certificate. This is not a teaching license or an endorsement.
