Bachelor of Applied Studies
Getting Started
To apply to the BAS degree program, you must be admitted to NMSU. See NMSU's Prospective Students website for more information and to apply online.
Once you have been admitted to NMSU, make an appointment with an advisor at the College of Extended Learning. The advisor will review your academic history, including transfer credits from other institutions. The review will establish your general education requirement status, your lower and upper division credits earned, and your GPA. This information will help you complete the BAS application.
Part One
- Briefly describe the major or focus area of your Associate of Applied Science or similar degree. You may attach a copy of the catalog description of the program.
- Detail your academic history and describe your education or career goals and how they will be met through your proposed Bachelor of Applied Studies program.
Part Two
- In consultation with your advisor, list the courses in your plan of study that meet your education or career goals.

In making admission decisions, faculty from other colleges and academic programs related to your experience and academic goals may be consulted.
